Healthy Nut Gooey Brownies

Almonds are high in vitamin E and they are also a great source of potassium, a mineral necessary for nerve transmission and the contraction of all muscles including the heart.

Cacao is a super bean! My favourite!! It is loaded with antioxidants and essential micronutrients for health and vitality. It’s a great source of magnesium, which aids calcium absorption, metabolism and protein synthesis.


1/2 cup cacao almond butter

2 tbs coconut oil

3/4 cup almond meal

1/3 cup cacao powder

2 tabs of raw honey – but you could use maple syrup

2 large free range eggs

1/2 tsp vanilla essence

1/2 cup chopped macadamia nuts

½ cup roasted hazelnuts

1/2 tsp baking powder

How to:

Preheat the oven to 160 degrees c.

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and combine well.

Line a tray with baking paper and press mixture in evenly, it will spread out as it bakes.

Bake 12-15mins.

Allow to cool for 10 minutes before cutting and transferring to a cooling rack.
