Every week I get so excited for the weekend to come so I can share with you someone new and exciting in this series.. hopefully giving you a chance to learn something, something about yourself, the journey you are on, somewhere you want to be, possibly helping you get rid of any fears or doubts you may have by hearing others amazing stories… This one is beautiful I know you will enjoy reading my chat with Gina Rose.
I was lucky enough to just stumble across her one day and was in awe with how she did things, how passionate she is and how much she truly wants to help others. You can see that she really wants to share her knowledge with you so that you too can enjoy the freedom that comes from true health. Gina wants everyone to know what it feels like to glow and radiate from the inside out. I love how Gina doesn’t believe in restriction, starvation, counting calories, diet foods, excessive exercise, or trying to heal the body from the outside. She believes in eating nutrient dense, delicious foods, feeling inspired and most importantly feeling empowered, confident and beautiful in your own skin. Describe yourself in one sentence I’m a mum to my two beautiful kids and a wife to my amazing husband. I am passionate about healthy food and inspiring people to know how GOOD it feels to be healthy. (more than 1 sentence I know!)
Gina, I love how passionate you are about health for not only adults but for babies and young children, there needs to be more of you! So what is your motivation to get up and do what you do every day?
My day starts a 5am when my beautiful little girl greats me with flapping arms & legs and a huge smile. I look at my kids and think I don’t want them to survive I want them to thrive.
What kinds of things inspire you? And who do you admire or find inspiration in? My family inspire me, gosh I am so blessed. I think of myself as a MIPI (Modern Hippy) I find my inspiration in whole foods, grounding myself in nature and cooking from scratch like my grandmother.
What or who was it that inspired you to create your blog, to help others and to become the amazing woman you are today? I was that friend on Facebook that always posted photos of my food, then I got all the questions about what was in it, what to eat for glowing skin, how to stop bloating etc so I stated my own nutrition page
Was there a wake up call or ‘aha’ moment that you realised you had to make a change or that you wanted to create this change in the world around you?
I work in a hospital and noticed how much junk people were eating that they genuinely believed was healthy for them. (this is well educated staff.. Dr’s nurses etc) This inspired me to share my knowledge.
Self Love is so important, especially as a female, what are the 3 things you love most about yourself. I have done a lot of work on self love, and agree it is so important. I had to really learn to love myself and I do believe we are so critical of ourselves. So my 3 best traits would be - my nurturing personality, - my healthy body and - my blue eyes.
What would you say has been your biggest achievement, personal hurdle or a health challenge that you have had? I was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago and really struggled with acne. To the point that I hated going out in public.
How did you overcome it? I did a lot of work on myself and learnt how to really nurture my body in all aspects. Fuelling my body with healthy food was not enough. I had to look at my environment, I was a Mum, studying full time working full time, my house was spotless and I cooked all my meals from scratch…. um no I’m not super woman I was literally wearing myself out and my health was the consequence.
How has it changed you, helped you to grow? I have learnt relaxation techniques and to chill out. I was evidence of “rushing woman syndrome” and saw first hand how stress and environment effect your health. I see this every day in clinic and want to inspire other woman to slow down and enjoy life.
What advice would you give to someone who is going through their own personal challenges, hardships or lacking self belief? What do you think has helped you most through these times?
Stop and take a really good hard look at what your body is telling you. Our bodies know more than we do and give us signs when something is not right. Tune into your body and listen. The biggest and hardest thing is to love yourself and when you do you truly glow.
I know you are a big believer in mind, body and spirit, so how do you nurture these? And is it hard to keep up this lifestyle? I am aware of the importance of nurturing mind, body & spirit and even I get caught up in life. My kids keep me grounded and make me appreciate the little things in life. Laugh everyday, take deep breaths, fall in love and manifest your dreams by positive thoughts xx

My favourite recipe would be bone broth, It is soooo unbelievably good for you. A true super food. If you want to do something wonderful for your health I would strongly recommend including bone broth into your diet. You will glow from the inside out!
Bone broths are extremely rich in nutrients, predominantly minerals & amino acids.
