You Inspire Me with Ronaldo Fulieri

If you live on the Gold Coast, visit Smoothie Shack in Nobbys Beach or you attend Endeavour, Seminars and other things all wellness and health you are more than likely to have come across this amazing person! And if you haven’t you must find the chance to; because this one person you want to be around! His energy is electric, he is always happy , passionate and shows such gratitude towards life but most importantly he is very inspiring! And that is why this week you will find him as part of my series of inspirational people. Ronaldo is a Nutritionist and Holistic Chef. He loves and respects food and knows what fresh ingredients have to be used to help preserve maximum nutrition qualities and bio availability. Ronaldo is originally from Brazil but resides on the Gold Coast, Australia. He has 2 wonderful books and a few ebooks for purchase. You can find them on his website (link below).

So without further adieu I would like to introduce you to Ronaldo!

Hi Ronaldo, thank you for being apart of my mini series of inspirational people, Im excited to be chatting with you today! So lets start todays chat off with how you would best describe yourself in 1 sentence: A passionate man, who loves create, experience, learn, and teach people how to heal themselves.

Now thats my kinda man, So who or what inspired you to create a change in your life, to help others and to become the lovely human you are today? I always knew since a young age that I would work with people and health one day. I had a goal to study medicine and to become a medical doctor. When I went to high school I came in contact with other disciplines and modalities of biological science. Instead to apply for medicine I decided to study nutrition and learn how to cure and heal people using food-nutritional therapy. For some reason I knew this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

Thats great, not many people know what they want to do until they are older, so you are super lucky – What was your wake up call or wow moment that you realised you had to change or create a change in the world? I lost a really good young friend to cancer and that made me think a lot about my own life and what I could do with my profession to improve and change the health of millions of people. I always wanted to write a book about nutrition and healthy cooking. When my friend passed away I made a goal to finish writing my book in 21 days. And I did. I wrote my first book and after that I realized that perhaps one of my biggest gifts was to write and leave all my experiences and knowledge documented to be able to share with people.

Im sorry to hear about your friend, but what amazing things you got from that experience, What advice would you give to those who are going through hardship or challenging times, what has helped you through your darkest days? Do your best to be strong as it’s not going to be always easy, and remember to always work hard towards your dreams, goals and passions. You will have days full of highs, fun, parties and lots of laughs with your friends, but you will also experience low times and days where you are stressed and angry days with yourself. The secret is to balance the fun and responsibility and get the best of both when you can.

Don’t focus on the negative and the problem, focus on the solution and it shall become reality. Remember: whenever focus goes, energy flows.

Your talents and voice can help many people. Perhaps you cannot see this now but one day you will. Remember that everyone has a talent to share and pass on.

Very well said, and I think sometimes people have hidden talents they don’t know about or are to afraid of sharing, Self Respect and Love is so important; List 3 things you love about yourself?

  • I’m smiling most of the time, and that helps people to feel appreciated

  • I make friends easily and can interact with anyone

  • My heart is bigger than I am. My source of love is endless

Haha I couldn’t agree more, that smile of yours is infectious! What is your biggest personal hurdle or health challenge that you have overcome and what did you learn from this experience? How has it changed or helped you to grow Ronaldo? When I was young, from the age of 7 – 11 I had put a lot of weight on and I went to the doctor and he told me I was overweight and if I could be possibly obese if I continue to gain more fat. I could believe what he was saying. I was shocked with the news. I remember that was it for me, I knew I had to do something to improve my health. I didn’t know nothing about nutrition but I knew that if I could stop drink soft drink, eat lollies and eat junk foods I would be better. And it did work for me. I lost lots of weight and I was exercising regularly. After that I fell in love for studying nutrition and understanding food.

So good that you got onto your health early in your life. Do you have a favourite motivation quote, mantra or affirmation?

‘Everything is going to be fine. Don’t worry about anything, pray for everything’

I love that! Thank you, Would you believe that you should nourish your mind as equally as the body? If so why? And how do you do this? (Mind/Spiritually/Body)

Of course I do. I believe we are one unit and inside this unit you have systems that are inter depended. Your mind, spirit and body are one dependent of the other. It’s very hard to leave a fulfilling life without look after the 3 main areas.

I normally meditate and pray daily to assist my mind and spirit. I tried to stay around positive people and positive things. I love music and exercise really help my mind to stay sharp. For my body I look after giving a good food, nutrition and exercising daily.

What motivates you to get up and do what you do every day?

My work. I love what I do and I get up everyday and think about what I can do to improve and help people. I have a very busy business and I have to constant to create solutions to the challenges that I face, and I love that. I love to get better and to grow every day.

Passion, its such a wonderful thing! And I have empathy for those who dont follow through with theirs and aren’t as lucky as us! And lastly because we all love food and its your speciality, we want to know what is your favourite recipe that always makes you feel good!

I love this recipe here: This is one of my favourite dishes. My mother used to do it almost every week and it was the type of meal that the whole family loved. It’s quick and doesn’t take much preparation at all.

Mum’s country chicken

Cooking instructions

  • Heat the oil in a large saucepan, add the chicken, a pinch of salt and pepper and fry for a couple of minutes to get colour golden brownAdd the aromatic ingredients such as onions, garlic, ginger and paprika.

  • When the onions become translucent add the diced tomato, water, half the parsley and dried Italian herbs.

  • Cover the saucepan with lid and cook on medium heat for 20–30 minutes.

  • Add the peas and parsley in the last two minutes before serving. Make sure you check the seasoning and add more if necessary.

Ingredients – serves 4–6

  • 1kg whole chicken cut into smaller pieces or 1kg of chicken thighs or drumsticks

  • 400g tin of diced tomato

  • 200ml water

  • 250g frozen peas

  • 1 big brown onion – diced small

  • 4 garlic cloves – finely chopped

  • 2 tablespoons ginger – grated

  • 1 cup of fresh flat leaf parsley – finely chopped

  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil

  • 2 teaspoons of dried Italian herbs

  • 2 teaspoons of ground paprika

Nutritional benefits: Quick, easy and nutritive family recipe, kids love this one Source of protein, carbohydrates, fibre, vitamins and minerals Warming and good for winter season
